ACCOMMODATION

 

Though the number of places is limited, we can guarantee accommodation in student Halls of residence for all foreign students: 

- either at "Cité universitaire Rangueil", on the campus of Paul Sabatier University. Details can be found in the Foreign student guide available on the website: www.ups-tlse.fr (international section)

- or in the ENFA student residence, located on the agricultural campus, where all classes are taught. Details can be found  on  the website:

Housing allowances: APL, ALS

List of document needed for application (once you are in France):

- a birth certificate, translated into French by an official translator
- a photocopy of your student card (issued by Paul-Sabatier university)
- a bank account registration certificate (RIB) issued by your bank in France
- a photocopy of your residence permit (except for UE nationals)
- proof of address in France

ENFA is located on an agricultural campus on the banks of the Canal du Midi. It is part of Toulouse-Auzeville “Agrobiopole”, a 60-acre site in South-East Toulouse, entirely dedicated to Agrobiosciences.

Administrative registration

 

Students register at Paul-Sabatier University Toulouse III (UPS )

Registration takes place in September. Students are issued with their student card at the end of the registration process.

               



Formalities before leaving

 

Contact the French consulate or embassy nearest to your home to inquire about the conditions of entry into France : visas,   health insurance coverage …

If a VISA is required, you have to apply for a long-stay visa marked “student”.
 

Important : Changing a tourist or short stay visa to a long stay visa once you are in France is impossible.




Documents required on arrival




Before leaving your country, make sure that you have the following documents :

  • Letter of admission to the Master’s programme
  • Valid passport or Identity Card (+ a photocopy)
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Marriage certificate (translated into French) if you are married
  • 2 recent birth certificates (< 3 months) translated into French and certified
  • Medical assurance certificate (translated in French or English):

For the period between your arrival in France and administrative registration, you must have a personal health insurance policy (to be taken in your home country), covering medical and hospitalization costs, accidents and repatriation.

  • Personal liability certificate (if you do not have this on arrival, you have to take one during registration process - Approx. 15€)

 



Residence permit (“carte de séjour”)

 

All foreign students wishing to study in France for a period longer than 3 months have to apply for a residence permit.
The application forms are provided by Paul-Sabatier university (during registration process).




Insurance 

 

IMPORTANT:

For the period between your arrival in France and administrative registration, you must have a personal health insurance policy (to be taken in your home country), covering medical and hospitalization costs, accidents and repatriation.


   1)    Health insurance

It is compulsory for all students, who must take out an insurance during the registration process at Paul Sabatier university.

- Students aged under 28 have to adhere to the French Health Insurance scheme (Sécurité sociale étudiante): approx. 180  euros    

- Students aged over 28 have to take out a personal health insurance policy (GAN, ASFE, ASSISTANCE ETUDIANTS, ...).



   2)    Complementary health insurance (Mutuelles complémentaires santé)

As social security only refunds part of medical costs, subscription to a complementary heatlth insurance (LMDE, VITTAVI, or   SMESO) is strongly recommended to all students. It guarantees a wider medical coverage. Minimum cost : 140 euros
Subscribe while performing your administrative registration at Paul-Sabatier university.

   3)    “Civil liability” insurance (assurance responsabilité civile)

This insurance, covering third-party damage, is compulsory for all students. If you take it in your home country, you have
to provide a certificate.
You can also take this insurance while registering at the university (Approx: 15 euros).

 

Cost of living  

 

On average, the minimum budget for basic expenses (accommodation, food, transport) is 550 euros per month.

This does not include leisure and other personal expenses : about 150 euros per month.

TOTAL : approx. 700 euros per month.

 

Opening a bank account

 

To open a bank account, which can be done in any local bank, you will need :  

-    your passport or ID card    

-    your student card  

-    proof of address

 

STUDY FACILITIES

 

All courses are taught on the ENFA site, in South East Toulouse.
Located on an agricultural campus on the banks of the Canal du Midi, it is part of Toulouse-Auzeville “Agrobiopole”, a 60-acre site entirely dedicated to AgroBiosciences.

The ENFA campus offers all study facilities: a modern well-equipped library, a self-serve computer room,  E-mail and Internet access …
Other on-campus facilities: restaurant, halls of residence, sports facilities, student common room.
